Apex tactical has just come out with a new edict stating the Flat Face forward set trigger for the M&P 2.0 "Does not fit the 10mm or 45 auto calibers. It clearly fits because I bought one, installed it and it appears to work fine in all respects. I e-mailed S&W for a clarification and have had no response. My question is, after recommending the trigger for the 10mm and 45 calibers from the the time they brought it to market until this July it was great for the 10mm and 45 ACP. Now it's not. What changed and what are the specific reasons for this sudden change. Obviously they must have reasons for this change and it obviously is important to those of us who in fact have installed their flat faced forward set trigger in our 10mm's of 45 ACP's. Does any one out there know what they are? It would seem that it should be incumbent upon Apex to make this information available. But?

The Apex listing for the FF Sear says "Not certified for use in the 10mm or .45ACP models."

Means they haven't fully tested it, or they did and it needs some modification.

I check the Duty/Carry kit which is OK for the .45 and it says "Not certified for use in the 10mm models."

If you want more info, you should ask Apex.

I emailed Apex about this very question last week and this was their reply.

Hi John,

I do not have the exact details as testing is still happening on those models. We do not recommend installing our parts into anything until they are approved and we know they will be reliable. If the existing kit isn’t working then we will have to look at redesign or separate kits for those models.

We are hoping to have more information soon. If you are on the e-mail list you will see any updates we put out.

I hope you have a great weekend.

My error in saying I "emailed S&W" for clarification on the Apex trigger. I did email APEX about clarification on the flat faced forward set trigger with the 10mm and 45ACP application. I did not receive a reply! Since, John, did get a reply to the same question from Apex, really appreciate your chiming in with your response from Apex to the same question, it appears that they have reasons that cropped up to re-examine the efficacy of the trigger in the 10mm and 45 calibers. With that, I'm satisfied that they will resolve any issues. Thanks again, John. Have a heck'uva good day all!

Apex is just covering there arse when a new or different model comes out . Asking s&w? If they answer you with something helpful let us know . I think I'll call ford about my nissian .

I got the same garbage back from Apex support. They changed the info on their web page well after the 10mm came out to say it wasn't "certified". Customer support said to remove the trigger and offered no refund or anything. Pretty disappointed that they retroactively changed their support stance, customer support has no detail, and they don't offer any remedy for those of us who bought it with the understanding it was in fact supported.

Apex FSS wouldn’t work in my 2.0 9mm PC. Trigger shoe hit the frame before the sear released the striker. Had to clearance the frame and it wouldn’t work with their striker plunger, it was too short.

Exchanged a few emails with Apex and never got an answer as to why my gun wouldn’t fire.
