Put the apex kit in my sd40ve and all seems ok but I can hear the spring when pulling the trigger and the biggest problem I have is on the reset it's super easy.. Like there is no resistance on the reset at all.. Just seems sloppy..

Is everyone else's like that?

Also noticed the trigger safety isn't working right.. If u pull on the top part of the trigger enough it will still pull... Not the way it's supposed to be..

Edit: Nevermind this part.. Guess I was pulling the bottom somewhat without realizing

The first Apex kit I installed was like that. The reset just seemed too soft. I installed the OEM trigger spring and it made a noticeable difference in reset without hurting the lighter and smoother trigger the kit provided. Scott at Apex offered to send me out a replacement spring to check it out, but I was happy with the set up and decided to pass. I don't know what the weight differences are between the stock spring and the Apex spring, but it can't be that much. When I installed my second kit I never swapped out the trigger spring at all.

So which spring controls the trigger pull and which one controls the reset?

You will actually feel the spring tension of the striker, trigger return and the safety plunger springs when pulling the trigger. When you release the trigger it is pulled forward by the return spring.
