I posted a "for sale" thread for a S&W Outdoorsman about a week ago. That thread is now closed, so I wanted to post a quick apology for not getting back to the responders.

My computer crashed (laptop failed due to it getting too hot and the solder points failing - that's what the IT guy where I work said. Consequently, I've been out of commission.

The owner of the S&W Outdoorsman did a turn-about on me and refused to sell the gun for the posted price. When I let him know there were a couple of people interested he told me that that meant the gun was posted too low and he wanted to have buyers bid on the gun. I told him this forum isn't an auction site, and he had agreed to the for-sale price before I posted the thread, but he said he didn't care and wanted to jack the price up. I told him that he could find someone else to help him with selling his gun, and will not assist him again.

I apologize for this situation to everyone who replied to the thread. While the owner's attitude and my computer's demise were outside of my control, I take responsibility for the total failure in what I had hoped would be a smooth, easy arrangement.

Moderators: If you feel I am deserving of some penalty such as a temporary or permanent ban from the for-sale portion of this site, I will comply with whatever consequences you deem appropriate.

Thank you, and again, sorry.

Hastings, I bought a 617 from you (FTF through this Forum) almost 2 years ago and was (and still am) completely satisfied with the transaction. I would have no concerns about doing so again. The situation you described was beyond your control and I commend you for taking the time to explain what happened. I hope I continue to see posts from you in the future.

Steve,

I appreciate the understanding. I still feel very bad about how this all played out. When it all sugars off, it was my fault for agreeing to post the ad for the fellow in the first place. He is obviously more concerned about making an extra $100 or $200 than trashing his and my online credibility.

Thanks again for the words of encouragement. I'm glad you are enjoying the 617.
