Appendix Carry J-Frame Holster?

I was looking at Delfatti's web site today. He has a backlog of Five years
of orders. I'm glad I got my ISP-DD for my 642 before he got so famous.

A couple more IWBs that I can highly recommend: In the
middle Garrity's "Inconspicuous", and at right Lou Alessi's
Hard Shell Talon.

You do know why it's called the DD?

Those are my initials...

Many years back I asked Matt why he didn't make a simple offset clip for the j frame. So he made one in horse hide for me then put it on his site. It's not marked number one or prototype but I'm pretty sure it's the first off the line.

A five year wait and $$$ for a leather holster? Exactly what will it do that my $55 Desantis ( got in 2 days from Amazon) doesn't do? And I thought waiting 2.5 months for my Lobo was bad!

Not being a wise a**. The two J frame holsters I regularly use (Desantis, Lobo) are so well made, and work so well, I don't know what a Delfatti could do better. Unless they're just prettier.

It's an Italian thing...:)

Galco Tuck-N-Go

I just bought a Galco Tuck-n-Go for the 10% of the time I might not do pocket carry of my Hammerless 642. I wanted something for appendix carry and also for crossdraw (for long times driving in the car). This holster has forward or back cant adjustment, a couple different belt hooks, ambidextrous as there is a belt hook attachment on each side of the holster. I like it so far. Got it directly from Galco and got 15% off for signing up for their newsletter. It is also available on Amazon. In the door for like $53. For J frame 2 inch the model number is TUC158B. Hope the picture gets attached OK

SW...can it go any lower. It looks like it's sitting awfully high for appendix carry...
That is true. Unfortunately, the height from the belt is not adjustable, although there is one other belt attachment provided. I will have to check to see how long that is. I had my appendix out October 2nd, so I don't have a point of reference any more. I think it will serve me OK for that 10% time.

I carry AIWB with a 360 exposed hammer in a Harry's holsters Icon. It's kydex and minimal the clips Harry uses are the best, can be worn with sweats or basketball shorts.

Edit: I chose the Icon because of the size, it's small, adjustable cant. The Discreet carry concepts clip is great.

I use the PHLster City Special most of the time but agree that Harry's Icon is good. But, in my view, Harry's needs a wing or claw from the factory to minimize printing. Modified my Harry's Icon by adding the claw from a Vedder holster.

On another note, most AIWB J frame holsters are too short. There's not enough below the belt line to act as a keel and prevent the grip from tipping forward. The PHLster City Special is almost long enough but something designed to accommodate at least 3"-3.5" barrel might work better.

I usually carry a 640 Pro at 4 o'clock in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake.

At those unusual times when I carry my Baby Chiefs Special, I carry it at 2-3 o'clock in a custom rig with no cant. Its hammer is bobbed.

I had a cross draw holster made for my round butt 547 (k-frame), but it's not comfortable so when I carry it I put it on the belt at about 2 o'clock (appendix?). The leather has about a 15° backward cant, and it's really easy to access. I like it so much I'm considering having the maker create a j-frame rig that I can wear the same way.

I also like a reverse cant IWB or OWB holster at ~2:00. Comfortable and easy access. Works with 1 7/8" through at least 4" barrels too.

My right wrist and shoulder didn't heal correctly from a fall when I was a kid and FBI cant behind the hip just doesn't work for me.

ETA: If you look at old cowboy photos you can't help but notice ~2:00 OWB was fairly popular, probably because it works sitting as well as standing.
