Off duty, I appendix carry my Glock 27 in a Raven ACR, great rig but it seems to be too much holster for my lightweight 37 so I did not have them make me one. If I keep the cylinder below the belt line, the butt of the pistol hides really well with even the most fitted shirts. What is a minimal holster for appendix carry? I have few concerns about tucking it in the waist w/o a holster other than I do not want it to fall down my leg. Has anyone used a Barami hip-grip for appendix carry? Seems like the angle would tilt the pistol too much for appendix carry. Ideas?

Hi:
Three members of my family use "Barami Grips" for the same position carry. They like the grips and position.
An "Old Cop" trick is to wrap rubber bands around the grip for carry.
I sometimes use the Barami Grips for "Appendix Carry". I also carry my Glock 27 in a "Sticky" pocket holster.
"What is better than one gun?". "Two Guns"!
Stay Safe,

I had an appendectomy... so.. appendix carry is kind of out of the question.

Get the Barami, and mate it with a Tyler T-grip adaptor. Very good combo.
Yup, the T-grip will be going on my snubbie. I am leaning hard towards the Barami. I am thinking that it has enough lip on it to keep it upright while wearing in up front.

+1 per Eric. I carry my 66 snub in a Shotist kydex AWIB under a T-shirt with no problems, AND I have a hernia "boot" under my hide on that side as well! One of these days my Tucker AWIB for my 325 snub will arrive.....

I carried a 3" 65 in a Shotist A-IWB today while hiking for three hours up in the Sandia foothills. Didn't even know the thing was there - love those Shotist rigs.

Appendix carry position works very well with small to medium revolvers. I agree with the comment regarding the Barami clip-grip placing the revolver at too great an angle for this carry position. I have also seen the rubber bands on revolver grips; they keep the revolver from dropping below the belt easily.

I recommend an IWB holster with zero-cant. This provides necessary security/retention for the handgun, and allows for an easy and natural draw.

This might sound out of place from a guy who makes leather holsters, but some of the padded synthetic holsters (cordura nylon with belt clip, etc) can be really good for appendix carry. Added comfort from the padding, and about the cheapest things on the market for the purpose.

Too bad you cannot get shotest holsters anymore, he stopped making them. I am using a soft IWB from Uncle Mikes, since I already had it on hand, until I find something better.

I use an old holster that is similar to the Deep Drop Bandit from Bell Charter Oak Holsters. I have yet to find a better style holster for appendix carry with a J-frame.

Thanks for the heads up. I looked them up and this may be exactly what I was looking for. I just got back from qualifying with it at the range so now I can officially carry it.

I've got a High Noon Mr Softy that works well for that also, although the gun rides a bit higher than shown in the photos.

I carry my 340 M&P off duty with Baramis. It does put the grip at a different angle than a holster with zero can't, but it still allows a fast grip. It sticks the grip up more than that Shotest holster. The Barami does allow carry in other Holsters. I have a kydex Threat Solutions AIWB holster as well but don't really use it anymore except on duty.
