I'm thinking about applying for a C&R. I had one a few years ago but let it expire. About 40 years ago I had a reg FFL dealers license. The application on the BATFE web site ask if I was an FFL holder in the past and also the FFL number. I have no idea what my number was 40 years ago. I may be able to find a copy of my old C&R if U scrounge around. Am I reading the application right?

#20,,,I would assume you are the applicant and a 'Responsible Person'.

From the deffinitions on the same form:...
"...3. Responsible Person - In addition to a Sole Proprietor, a Responsible Person is, in the case of a Corporation, Partnership, or Association, any
individual possessing, directly or indirectly, ......"

The first few words 'In addition to a Sole Proprietor....' sounds like you the applicant would be one of these 'Responsible Persons'.
(Though it does sound like they are speaking on terms of a business (01FFL) and not a collector (03FFL).
Hard to guess what's on their minds!

If you can't remember or find the old numbers,,call the BATFE and ask them what to do.

To me a C&R FFL sounds a lot like being on another list with a big red circle around my name. Probably not so much of a concern at this point in time, but a change of administration might result in unwanted attention.
