AR front sight

Regardless of brand, what is a good way to turn the front sight post if you do not have one of those little tools. It is very frustrating and I'm sure there is a simple way. Yes I know the little pin must be pushed in before the post is turned to the next notch. Thanks.

thanks, what i was talking about was the turning of the post itself, i didnt want to scar it up w-a pair of pliers, mine is really stiff and hard to turn...got it done though, shoots right on target, shot another 175 today...damn these are fun
 
That front sight needs periodic maintenance too. The GI service rifle operator's manual specifies one drop of lubricant on the front sight as needed.
 
Bullet tip, nail, ball point pen, etc. We all used nails (tip rounded off a bit) on the range.
