Are the M&P9 and M&P40 full size frames the same?

I have both full size pistols along with additional CORE aftermarket slides and barrels. I was able to interchange the slides with both frames. I have not shot them that way. I did this to see if they would interchange. Since they do interchange I'm being very careful in not getting the slides mixed up when cleaning. I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue to worry about or not.

I'd appreciate if anyone has interchanged the slides and frames and shot them.

THIS guy has them listed as interchangeable. He also knows what he's talking about. Having interacted with him many times, I'm pretty sure if you dropped him this question he'd give you a definitive answer. Great source of parts too btw.

Yes the frames are the same. I have swapped barrels is the 40 Cal to a 9MM and they work fine.

I’ve been running a 9mm FS CORE too end on my .40 in competition for many years without issue.
