Are there any S&W revolvers smaller than the model 640 (J frame)?

I agree that J frames are on the large side for some pockets so I carry a .380 in some cases. If you want a revolver there is the recently introduced and discontinued Taurus 85VTA.

Try a pair of boots grips on your 640 pro. That style will ease your problem greatly..

This^^^^^^

If you still have the original grips on your 640, you need to start with smaller grips, if you can tolerate a bare back strap.

Issue Resolved!

Update:

I think I found a fix that suits me! I originally bought a cheap pocket holster ("Blackhawk size 4") at the store I bought the 640 from, and it turns out that was the problem. My new DeSantis pocket holster works like a charm by keeping the revolver from rocking back in my pocket to show almost the entire grip like the Blackhawk was doing (the entire revolver even fell out of my pocket in my car at one point due to the Blackhawk's loose fit). The only thing I'm not entirely keen on for the DeSantis is that, while the trigger itself is entirely covered, the back part of the trigger guard is not. Probably not a big deal, but it bothers me a little. I think it's where the crane hinge is that stops the revolver from being seated farther into the holster.

Now I just need to figure out how to stop the high profile Pro Series sights from snagging on the stitching. :( Adding a bit of electrical tape over the seam popped into my my mind, but I feel like that's probably a pretty chintzy fix and wouldn't last.

The other thing on my mind is deciding if I want to polish her to a semi-mirror shine or just keep her with the brushed steel finish.

I appreciate all the suggestions and info! I feel more educated on revolvers already. No doubt this is just the beginning of my journey into spending too much money on the world of revolvers. :D
