I just purchased a used S&W Model 10 Competition PPC Revolver built by Oregunsmithing. It has the 3 position front sight. I've never had a ppc revolver by aristocrate with the front sight adjustment. How do I adjust the sight? I see the 3 1/16 Allen screws on top but I don't know which does what and where I need to move them to change the impact.

8-Shot,
There is a slider button on the left side of the front sight that should have positions 1, 2 & 3. Position 1 is center hold for 7, 15 and 25 yards. The set screw for that position is screwed in to lower the point of impact and unscrewed to raise POI. Position 2 is for neck/head hold at 25 yards. Turn the set screw the same as Position 1. Position 3 is for Neck/Head at 50 yards. Same info for the set screw, in to lower POI and out to raise POI. Done correctly the set screws won't be visable when sighting the gun.

BOBS RIGHT, BUT BEFORE YOU ADJUST THE FRONT. BOTTOM OUT THE REAR SIGHT AND BRING IT UP 6-12 CLICKS.( ONE HALF TO ONE FULL TURN). THAN ADJUST THE FRONT SIGHT. THIS WAY YOU STILL HAVE CLICK ADJUSTMENTS AVAILABLE FOR LIGHTING AND AMMO CHANGES. JP

P.S. REMEMBER WHEN ADJUSTING THE FRONT SIGHT. YOU MOVE IT IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION YOU WANT THE GROUP TO MOVE.

JUST TO MAKE SURE I HAVE MY DUCKS IN A ROW BEFORE I GO MESSING WITH MY SIGHTS. I MOVE THE SLIDE TO THE 7,25, OR 50 POSITION AND THEN I MOVE THE ALLEN HEAD SCREW. IF I'M ADJUSTING THE 7 YARD POSITION I MOVE IT TO THE 1 AND THEN ADJUST THE FRONT SCREW OR THE CLOSEST TO THE END OF THE BARREL. RIGHT TURN LOWERS THE SIGHT AND LEFT TURN RAISES IT.

IF I'M SHOOTING LOW AND NEED TO BRING MY GROUP UP I TURN THE SCREW LEFT OR COUNTERCLOCK WISE.

8-Shot,
Right turn raises the sight, which lowers the point of impact. Left turn lowers the sight, which raises the point of impact.
