It looks like a very dry humor comic. The comments under the GoComics listing don't make much sense either. I suppose he's calling someplace where the weather may be better or worse than where he is.

90% of his daily strips don't make any sense. Most are so obtuse and unintelligible they are not worth printing, I just don't get it, where's the funny in that?
One person on GoComics opined that it might be if he got the info off his Iphone he didn't have to put up with advertisements and pop-ups on the internet weather sites and therefore stay "local".

Does anyone understand the Arlo and Janis cartoon strip, especially today?

Even though he has a smartphone and can find the time, temperature, and a thousand other things via the internet, he is using the old fashioned time & temp phone number. Doing things the old way, is like patronizing local stores - a quaint, feel-good gesture.

Arlo & Janis is actually a pretty good strip and can be subtly racy at times. Arlo is in the bathroom all the time while Janis is taking a bath, and there was even a scene where Janis is getting dressed and underboob is visible as she's putting on her top. I think the author likes to see what he can get away with. :)

In addition a lot of the gags and themes resonate with me, at 50-something years old.

"Arlo and Janis" is among my favorites. My wife and I read it every day. We've often commented that Jimmy Johnson must have our house bugged. They remind us of us!

And, I'm with Tom K, a bit racy at times. Great entertainment.

Tundra and Argyle Sweater are two of my favourites. there is a new one called Wumo that pulls out some good ones, too.

Read all the Sunday comics, whether I like them or not. Arlo & Janis has it's moments, but sometimes tries to be too clever by half.

That's my point. Sometimes Johnson tries to be so clever he leaves everyone wondering "what's the point" "where's the humor". It's suppose to be entertaining, not have to ponder for half an hour or more to get a moot point of no value.

Do you eat foods that you don't like the taste of, or wear clothes that go against your sense of style? And then tell people how much you don't like them?

No, nothing much else upsets me, but I just can't stand Arlo and Janis because it usually makes no sense. But, since I get a daily paper for the TV guide and crossword puzzles, I look at it about once a month to see if things have changed and as usual, it hasn't. :( I think my wife takes sneak peeks at it more often, but she says it makes no sense to her either.
