Given that this story is written by the New York Times, one must consider the source and then take it with many, many grains of salt. However, if even part of the story is true it is disturbing.

Interesting that American military arms are being sold to the Taliban by members of the Afghan security forces, but the Mexican Cartels get their guns not from Mexican army defectors or arsenals, but from Gun Shows and Gun Stores on main street USA.

I was in Afghanistan for 3 years.

Unfortunately, it's true. A number of Afghans, both police and army, sold their weapons on the black market and then reported them "lost or stolen".

Being from N.Y I know for a FACT that they are getting thier weapons from states with gun laws "LESS STRINGENT" than New York. I know this to be true because Chuckie Schumer AKA " That Jew", Andrew Cuomo and Mikey Bloomberg told me so!
