Many of you saw my post about 4 weeks ago about the cat, Axl, that I pulled out from under the hood of a car at work and adopted. He is doing great and gained about 1.5 pounds the first three weeks I had him, and as sweet and loving as any cat I've ever had.

The morning we found him, a mother cat and four kittens were seen around the dealership. In the last three weeks I have caught all three of Axl's siblings. The first two came on consecutive days in traps baited with dry cat food and tuna. Caught them and took them to the local shelter just down the street. Last Tuesday I caught the fourth and final kitten, a beautiful chocolate brown female. This one didn't go as smoothly though, while I was transferring her from the trap to a carrier, she almost got away and when I grabbed her she bit me three times on the hands, the last bite she wouldn't let go and one of my coworkers had to pry her mouth open so I could have my hand back!

Well, sucker that I am, I figured that since we now shared DNA that I had to give her a home. I adopted her and now she's living with us. She is a little sweetheart like Axl, she was just scared the morning she bit me.

Axl is absolutely thrilled and my other two cats, Willis and Woodrow are adjusting quite well.

Meet Lzzy! (Another rock and roll name).

Did you get a chance to see what the mother cat looked like?

A couple of the other guys at work saw her but I never did. I was hoping to catch her too but she hasn't been seen in almost a month. Since it was Monday night I caught Lzzy I figured I would leave the trap out the rest of the week.

Friday morning we had a funny looking black cat with a white stripe down its back in the trap.
I got it out without getting sprayed but I'm not going to push my luck!

Good on you!! I'm a cat person and all my children have cats at their homes. I am able to teach and train them in a very moderate level. They are also very sweet and loving. The big old male tucks me in bed nearly every night but as soon as the light goes out, he retires to the foot of the bed. In the morning he lets me sleep but gets my wife up at about 5:30 AM.

congrats sir...one of our 3 cats.. was born outside to our old mother cat & no one touched her for 4-5 weeks...she was very, very skittish to say the least. We discovered her the week before we moved down to this old Victorian... we got her eating dry food. then I put the bowl beside my legs on the steps.. with a cat box near by, stood on end with the door opened... she finally came up to eat, I scooped her up & had her in the box with the door secured ASAP.

We moved her here that day & made sure she & the other two stayed in the house for months until we got them spayed.. Months later she forgave me when she'd gone in heat, and for a week begged attention around the clock..

Now she'll sit on the arm of my old recliner or my lap, purring quietly away... as long as I don't pet her too much. So yours should calm down too... though the mother cat may not gentle very quickly. Thanks for saving them.......they'll repay your kindness a hundred fold in the years to come.....

After the sadness with my Cleo...
Porkchop is sad and alone while we're at school. We went to visit cats today and brought home a 5 yr old tortoise shell with the prettiest green eyes. Adult cats over 3 had adoption fees waived. Anyway, Porkchop is stalking and watching but not attacking. She's oblivious on laps already. 🐱
