ATI Model 1911 .45acp Pistols:
Does these Models accept most 1911 magazines ?
Are the parts interchangeable with GI parts ?
Who is the manufacturer?

I use Chip McCormick mags in mine.
Don't know if they are GI spec.
Shooter Arms, or Shooter's Arms is the manufacturer, iirc.

They may or may not have a soft ejector.
Mine does, my buddy's does not.
I actually like mine a lot. It's the Commander size.

I have one of the basic 1911A1 mil spec guns that I bought fairly
recently. As mentioned they are made in the Philippines by Shooters
Arms mfg. They claim that most parts are interchangable with US GI
parts although some minor fitting might be required as with any 1911.
Magazines are interchangeable. I don't like the look of the fat floor
plate of their mag and so I have a US surplus mag that I have owned
for at least 40 yrs in mine. I haven't shot it a whole lot yet, just a
few mags of factory FMJ but it was with my old US mag and function
is fine. I have a couple more old mags that will just barely not lock
in place so I just need to very lightly file the notch in the mags. I
think it is an excellent gun for the money.

Pro mags do work in these, surprisingly.
They say they do. Will have to see
SAM out of Phillipines.

I bought the small 'Officer' sized ATI Titan L-W version a couple /three years ago.

Really a nice little pistol with a lot of features for the price. Not without issues though. First thing that popped-up is brass to the face..HARD..hard enough to draw blood. I ended up slightly altering the angle of the ejector which pretty much cured the BTF problem.

The next issue that appeared was that after a couple years of use(maybe 450-500 rounds through the pistol)...the safety would disengage by pulling the trigger! Everything else worked fine as far as trigger-pull/etc...resolved that issue by taking the little ATI Titan apart and examining the pieces. Nothing obviously worn or broken so I get my spare 1911 parts out and compare Philippine parts to new parts in my 1911 parts pile. The ATI disconnector was somewhat different on profile and dimensions...I installed my replacement disconnector part and the safety has been working fine since. I will say that the ATI Titan internal parts are not what I would call 'USGI' identical..pretty close though.

My thoughts on the ATI pistols from my experiences with the midget Titan version...they are pretty decent in many ways..but not top-tier by any means....

Our Filipino friends are making some very nice 1911s at very nice prices. Just becaus labor is cheap doesn't mean it's not good.

1911s with 3.5" barrels are known to be persnickity...

I have the full size RIA Tactical model. All the modern upgrades, nice trigger, no bells & whistles you don't really need. It's a lot of pistol for the $$$.

I have the ATI "FAT-BOY" which is a double-stack 3.1"bbl with 12+1 rounds. That is firepower, but it is heavy on your hip.
Quite accurate though.
Superb self defense weapon.

I don't know about the ATI (other than who makes them), but the Turkish made Tisas is well-made and parts seem 100% compatible (never an issue with magazines, and my brother owns a couple of Colts that all parts can swap back and forth with).

I think the era of badly-fitted parts in off-brands is gone now. It's CNC controlled manufacturing now, so the parts should be identical sized whether it's made in the US, the Philippines, Turkey, Argentina, or wherever. These are NOT modern day Llama's, they are legit 1911's.

You MAY run into difference in steel quality, and finish.

I have a RIA 1911 .45 that would not hold the slide back on the
last round with a few different magazines. I replaced the slide lock
with a used military one and now it works perfect every time.
