The NYS Senate is attempting to re-introduce the Micro-Stamping Bill.

Please contact members of the Senate Codes Committee and respectfully ask them to OPPOSE S675B.
There is a link at the bottom of the page which gives you their names and email addresses.

NRA-ILA | New York: Senate Committee to Consider Microstamping Bill

PS - If all you've got to offer, is New York bashing, please don't clutter up this thread. We've heard it all before. ;)

Moon, COBIS was taken out of the NYS budget, no more fired case requirement. Microstamping is bottled up in the Senate, with no chance of seeing daylight.
Will the liberals come back? Sure they will, we need to be ready.

Why can't we bash New York? Are you sure you've heard it all?

Seriously, stay alert. The camel nose under the tent thing.

This is New York, the camel is in the tent. But we've got a firm hold on his tail and we're pulling back!

The biggest thing I hate is that people think the only thing that is in NY is that smelly wasteland known as the 5 boreaus. Here in the Adirondacks us natives (who the city people consider as much rubes as they do southerners) have been demanding things get done differently. We have not been able to stop everything, but you can darn sure bet we are holding as many of these fleecers feet to the fire as possible. We are tired of the BS and we are making it known.

One of my best friends lives up state. A beautiful place for sure. Spent two years stationed at the Marine Barracks, Brooklyn Navy Yard about 47 years ago. Great place for food, but not much else. -- Yeah, they keep coming back, and will. Stay Alert!!! Sounds like another waste of your tax dollars. :(

Born and raised in the Adirondaks and lived there for most of the first 36 years of my life. Spent the last 20+ years living here in NC. I can relate all too well to your comments - and fustration with the city. While most of the upstate area is quite conservative, many of the people have given up hope of having a say in the NY politics because of the clout from the cities - and no longer try. That is a very dangerous and slipery slope. Glad to see some of you guys are still fighting...

A bit off topic but this Southern boy always found it funny, while I lived in NYC for three years that "upstate" was anything north of Westchester.

Having grown up in NYC (moved to the Albany area 25 years ago) there are people in Queens and Brooklyn who consider the Bronx upstate!

Some of us will never give up the fight. Unfortunately, we are in the minority of "upstate" gun owners.

My family lives in Columbia County, and it is one of the prettiest places on earth. (I have been all over the planet, and I'm a fair judge)
NYS is about 20 million good people who mostly do the right thing. NYC is about 6 million people living alone together.

Actually NYC has 8.3 million people, just announced today, but I know what you were getting at. Columbia county is awesome, I have a friend who lives in Hillsdale.
People like to trash NY, I guess it makes them feel worthy.

Small world. The Hillsdale FD used to be run by a guy named Jerry Couse, who was both a fine man and a S&W Combat Magnum enthusiast. He threw me a bachelor party many years ago that included a cargo plane ride to Lemoore, CA haha! THAT was a party!

No, Yonkers is "upstate". Mrs. Nixon is a 4th generation Manhattan native and young Ms. Nixon now lives in "Two Bridges" on the lower east side.

As an upstater I understand what you're saying, I live on a large lake and we get a bunch of those bozos mostly on the weekends of the summer. Now I'm not a native, but have been in God's country since 1987. Have a bit of land with my own shooting range on property!

Been in the gun control fight all my life, would love to see NYC become the 51 state. If Vermont and New Hampshire can get by we can also

Ahh, NYer's bashing other NYer's, how nice? Who'd a thunk it? So, I wonder just where "upstate" starts...hmmm is it Weschester....is it Putnam.....is it the Adirondacks?
Can't wait to get away from this place, no wonder the southerners hate us. Even good news is no good.

Sorry for the thread drift Moon.

I never understood the State bashing. Cali., Ill., NY., and Mass.. These States offer some big time anti-gun laws, but that does not mean the entire State feels that way.
It's the whole "judge a book by it's cover thing".

I support all the gun owners in those States, afterall, we have something in common.

Fight New York Fight!

Southerners don't hate New Yorkers...at least I found them some of the best folks around [both the city folks and the upstaters]. I ate at the Social Pub across from 54/4 in 1999-2001 with a bunch of that fire crew. Losing them was one of the reasons I left the city in early 2002.

And if you were at up on 84th or 85th back in that time I was by your station every few nights as I walked back home from taking someone to her apartment on E93rd.
