Auction Craziness unbelievable Prices

Time to buy a lead pot and molds. :-)
Alternately, don't despair and start calling around. I can vouch for SNSCasting.com having 32s as of a week ago and I suspect there are other smaller casting houses that still have stock.

Thanks for the tip. SNS had some .313 100 grn in stock and I order 500. We'll see how they work. I've been looking for 3 weeks and hit about 3 of my regular casters with no luck.

Think the hoarders invaded Bass Pro Shop near me. No pistols or ammo to speak of. Probably the worst place to find anything now anyway. I can score 9MM and 38 rounds at my LGS but bet you will pay! $50-60 for 9MM and $19 for 22 magnum ammo per 50

Heck, it has been like that here for months.........

Things are beginning to stabilize here in MA somewhat. Most shops have 9mm and .22 on hand without stupid prices. I bought .38 last week for $40/50 and CCI .22 is $80/500.

.312 bullets

I've been telling myself not to acquire anymore new firearms that I can't reload for right now. Well, last year I went against my good judgement and purchased one. I got all geared up to load for it and now there are no bullets. I had everything else secured before covid except enough bullets. I knew about primers and powder but I never though bullets would be a problem. .312 dia. bullets disappeared.

Hey Navy, I can spare a few .312 bullets if you are in need. Also have some wad cutters in that size. Just a thought. :) no gouging here. :)

I think most folks who have been through these shortage cycles tend to "stock up" during the times of plenty. Just how much they stock up is another thing. I have a friend that has in the excess of 250,000 of .22 LR setting around.

A tip on stocking up, paid for with hard experience:
If you buy cases of ammo, make sure to open them up and shoot some from each lot before too much time passes.

Years ago (might have been President Obama's election) there was a big .22 shortage and on the back side of that when prices started to hit normal I bought a *quantity* of Remington "Thunderbolt" in 500rnd loose-pack boxes. I set it on the shelf and proceeded to use up my older stock of .22 for a couple-few years. Then I finally break into the Remington and find about 2% of it won't go bang! Of course after years no store wants to have anything to do with defective ammo so it's mostly been used as donor ammo when I want people to get better at failure drills. :-(

Remington had a reputation a few years ago for having a lot of FTF's in their cheaper ammo. Golden Bullets were usually mentioned, but I am sure that others of their cheaper ammo suffered from the same malady. It is a chance that you take.

Get there before the 'hoarders'. No hoarder has an advantage over anyone else buying ammo.

I have a good friend who just bought a pallet of .223, .45 ACP and .40 for $12,000.00

I wont be needing any .45 ACP for a long time. :D

Thanks. I ordered 500 from SNS and they came in yesterday. Shipping was FAST. Lots of good will on this forum and I try to do my part also. Again, I appreciate the offer.

I think I paid between 240 and 260. Just details.

I think that's what I paid also. I still have about 9 bricks left. That stuff goes fast. No point in buying anything in small quantities anymore. Just when you think it's too much, it isn't enough.
