I am a new member to the forum and live in Sydney Australia
Our firearms legislation is much more restrictive than yours but we do have provision for obtaining a licence which allows us to collect firearms including pistols,, a licence which allows possession and hunting /target use of rifles and shotguns and a target pistol licence which allows the ownershipand use of pistols for target shooting but not hunting. I have a licence which covers all three.
My collection is mostly antique revolvers and single shot pistols from flintlock (one only) tp percussion (quite a few) and cartridge. I hesitste to admit that many are Colts but I have recently "seen the light" and developed an interest in the classic S7W revolvers from the 1960s and 1970s
