This video dates back a few years. He was actually up for an ESPY Award that year! He was a full blown "rock star" because of that night.
J Mac graduated from hs and is currently an assistant track/cross country coach for his Alma Mater. Additionally, I believe he still works at a Rochester area Wegmans.
More recently, he ran 3:01 in the 2012 Rochester Marathon and finished 15th overall. His time easily qualifies him for the 2013 Boston Marathon (3:05). J Mac is a big kid and his autism aside, his distance running and training are awe-inspiring.
I speak with him occasionally. I find him engaging, passionate and very high energy. I always enjoy our conversations.
If you spend any time with him you will soon realize that his basketball exploits were just a "coming out party" for this amazing young man. His success story is one that he wrote himself through hard work and perseverance. He is truly inspirational.

EDIT: I just viewed the video for I'd say at least the 10th time. But for the first time in many years. It funny how small and young he looks. J Mac has really grown up now. He's at least 6" taller and a good 30 pounds heavier (even in his current tremendous physical condition). He was a little kid back then. He handled his fame with class and poise back then and remains a classy young man today!
