I recently purchased my M&P Shield 9 mm and I have been trying to buy additional 8-round magazines for about a month now without success. I ordered two from Arms Unlimited in February and they still haven't gotten any in stock, although when I checked a couple weeks after ordering them they said they'd have them in the following week. That was about three weeks ago. I've also tried everywhere I can think of, both on the Internet and at every local gun store I know of. Most of the on-line sources won't even take orders for them. Has anyone heard about what the problem might be?

The problem is people like you wanting extra magazines. Why do you need extra magazines for a carry gun? If you bought it new, it should have came with a 8 rounder. Realistically I don't think smith and Wesson anticipated people wanting to buy extra magazines. Carry the 7+1 in the gun and the 8 rounder in the pocket. No need for extra magazines with a carry gun. Just my honest opinion. Extra magazines for an AR is a different story...

Wow, did you really say the OP doesn't need extra magazine's? I have a minimum of 6extra mags for any carry weapon I own. Three are designated practice, and 3for carry. Go to any good training class and they require a minimum of 3 mags.

OP, keep searching, they are out there.

Really? Wow...

@Destryrides... Welcome to the Forum and Congrats on getting a great little pistol.
For mags, try Grabagun, MidwayUSA, CDNNSports (to name a few). They don't always have 'em in stock, but each place may have a backorder option to notify you when they come in.
For Grab-a-Gun and CDNN... Sign up for their weekly email lists.

Cmon guys, I'm just messing around giving him a hard time. No hard feelings. Didn't mean for you to take it seriously! If you can make your way to Denver, the cabelas I go to usually has at least 8 or 9 on the shelf. I have 5 extra mags myself. The shield is a great gun, congrats on the purchase

Check ebay, several sellers with new in box shield mags with the buy it now option.

I keep getting email notices from Quanticotactical.com and they advertise Shield and Bodyguard mags at 3 for $78. I don't work for them.

Shoot Straight had the on sale on their website for $24. I went in the store and bought a couple last week.

8 round mags

Hello Destryides,

In Massachusettes @ ph # 1-413-786-0100 they had what your looking for last week.Give them a call. This weekend they are at a gun show.
I agree with you in having extra 8 round mags. I have used my 9mm shield in matches where extra mags are a most. Don't listen to any jerk who tells you to stick your magazine in your pocket.I carry an eight
rounder in a knife holder on my belt. Good luck & let me know how you made out.
Regards
Bob

Welcome from Texas! You've got a lot of great suggestions already, but I'll throw this out anyway. Gunwatcher mag search gives you a whole page of links priced lowest to highest.

shield 9mm 8 mags for sale

I also recommend 44mag.com. I bought extra Shield magazines and they had the best prices I could find.
