For rifle work...any where from 10 to 100 yards.!!!!
Will depend on what style optic your using....most guys with a scope want to zero for 100 yards...pretty much max for most .22 shooters...
Users with red dot/green dot optics... I zero my stuff for 50 yards max...of course that depends on the size of the dot in the optics your using...

From about 20yds to 60yds. Good can bouncing distance.

25 - 100 also depending on sights... but I like iron sights as long as I still can see good... 
The range I shoot at has 30 and 100 yard targets.
Some property I shoot at has an informal 50 yard target.
For squirrels I try for around 50 yards. Sometimes a little further out.

25 - 100 also depending on sights... but I like iron sights as long as I still can see good...
Qualifying at 500 meters was easy as a young Marine. Not sure I could actually see the target at that distance anymore without help!
I prefer iron sights, but the old eyes ain't what they used to be.ballistictoyz

50yds is a good zero point then you can adjust your poa for closer or farther distances

50-100 yards with a 3x9-40 Nikon ProStaff scope.
For handguns... 7, 10, 12, 15. 18 20 and 25 yds. For .22 rifles... 25/50/75/100 yds. For centerfire rifles... 100/200 yds.

My local ranges have 25m bays, 75m bays and 120m bays and you can use any distance in between. I normally do 15m for pistols, 50m for .22 rifle and 100m for centerfire.
I've gone on the 500m range here a couple of times but I'm not good enough to do it often. Hats off to those who are. I'm a mediocre shooter at best.

Damn, DelFuego! I had problems with Lucas voltage regulators and synchronizing SU carbs also but I didn't get literally ballistic about it!

Based on ballistics the correct range to sight in a .22 is 50 yards. At 100 it is already dropping a lot. That is why most rimfire scopes have fixed 50 yard parallax. If you buy a BDC turret type .22 scope that is the accepted zero point, 50 yards. That way when you dial the elevation to 125 yards the bullet will still hit on or near the bullseye at that distance. I know the BSA Sweet 22 scopes use a 50 yard zero and are calibrated out to 175 yards.

I usually shoot 50y as that is the room I have in my backyard. I have tried to stretch it out to 100y but it is difficult with my scope at 7x.

The majority of my trigger time w/ the 15-22 is split between 25 and 50 yards. 25 yards at the indoors range(s) and mostly 50 w/ a tiny bit at 100 yards at the outdoor range. Informal plinking on friends' land is mostly between 15 and 25 yards. I've got a Nikon P-22 BDC on mine and zeroed it a 50 yards as recommended.
I mostly shoot my Glock and 22/45 at 7, 10, and 15 yards. I've got the TLR-2s laser sighted lollipop style for 7 yards on the Glock and the TRS-25 at 15 on the 22/45 TB

50 yd zero is the flattest zero (improved battle zero) over the longest range for most rifles. No hold over out to about 300 yds without being too high at 100.
I shoot the 15-22 mostly between 25-50 yds though, and it is also zeroed at 50.

I have been shooting at 25yds lately with the rimfires, but using iron sights and trying to hit a circle that is less than an inch diameter. Those battleship game targets are fun, but hard to see at 25yds without magnification.

My iron sights are set for 50 yards. My 3-9x scope is sighted for 100 yards. I'm happy with both.....
