I have an old axe stamped US00, it is 7.75 long and the blade is 4.5 wide. Do any of you axe people have info on this. I looked on web and blade forum, without much luck. I've seen others for sale, but no makers name or years they were produced. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mikey

From what I have seen,,the heads marked like that might be those made at the Woodings/Verona implement works in Falls City, Nebraska after 1997(?) when Ames Hardware/True Temper took over the factory there.
The '00" would be a mfg yr,, or 2000.
That's all I could dig up on those, but that's not an area I'm real familiar with.

Thanks 2152hq for any info about axe companies, I know nothing about them. I thought this axe head was pretty old, but it might be newer, like you think it is. I guess one steel axe head looks pretty much like the next, unless it is stamped different or an odd shape. Thanks again! Mikey
