B-17 Flight

Everyone with an interest in the B-17 should read “The Mighty Eighth” which is the story of the men, planes and actions in WWII over Europe. Every time I read about the Eighth I find myself going back over the losses and casualty rates ecause they were so high it is hard to grasp. Most of these brave men would be considered “boys” today. Becoming a crew member was almost a death sentence. Check out the statistics and be amazed. Bless’em All!

Outstanding! I'm going to ride "Doc", the newest flying B-29 this coming Saturday in Wichita. A great buddy of mine grabbed a couple of tickets and gave me the call last week. Really looking forward to it.

Rode 909 some years back in Casper, Wyoming. Looks like the price hasn't gone up over the years. Worth every penny.

My son is a commercial pilot and WWII buff. About three years ago this was in Casper where he and my grandson were looking at the B-17, B-25, and the dual control Mustang. I was drinking my morning coffee when I got inspired. Called him up and asked him if there were any slots open for flights in the P-51C. There were, and I told him to book himself into one; told him my credit card and I were on the way.

Only really good kids get to fly Mustangs, and he turned into a good one.
