I have 8 grandkids, the two youngest are both girls about 4 1/2 months and 500 miles apart. They are both absolutely festinated by a cartoon about a shark family. They use a special sign language to depict the various shark family members. I am the Grandpa Shark, the girls both assigned the Grandpa Shark sign to me. It looks something like this. With both hands make a large biting with the ends of the fingers folded in. This signifies to the girls that granpas are big and loud but wouldn't or can't hurt you.

I like this relationship with a two and 1 1/2 year old "Baby Shark". They think I'm fun and great to play with! However their dad's are my 2nd and 3rd sons, and they know "Grandpa Shark" is anything but toothless! I will always be there for them to play with, AND TO KEEP ALL THE BAD FISH AWAY!

What other kind of "Relational" games do you "Play" with you young family members?

I went through the Baby Shark and Daddy Finger, Mommy Finger phase with JR and Anna. Talk about taking one for the team...those tunes would run on a loop in my sleep. I should have gotten a medal.

Now we occasionally play Minecraft, Fortnite or Cuphead and Mugman. He usually beats me at all of those and crushes me at PacMan.

You sound more like Ivan the Softie! I’m sure you’re a great Grandpa.

We don’t have kids, but we do have an old, blind Labrador retriever. Sometimes when she’s on our bed, I’ll stick my hand under the blanket and grab her paw. When she tries to bite the “monster under the blanket”, I grab her snout! This goes on until I’m tired of it. She’s careful not to bite too hard, but sometimes she gets me good. It’s her favorite game and her tail wags a mile a minute. When I stop, she barks at me! I love that dog!
