I like thin compact pistols; I have small hands. Was loving my Shield 1.0, but the grip seemed a little too thin, even with Talon grip wrap. I picked up a Glock 43x and planned on selling the Shield. I haven't even shot the Glock yet. Now the Glock 43x is a great pistol overall. It feels great in the hand, has a ten round capacity, and with Shield Arm's magazine, the capacity can be increased to 15 rounds without changing the length of the magazine. In playing with and handling the Glock, I've discovered that my finger drags the inside of the trigger guard. I had toyed with the idea of filing down the inside of the trigger guard but decided against that. Luckily, the buyer I had lined up to take the Shield has been dragging his feet. A Hogue beavertail grip sleeve has really made the Shield a more perfect weapon. Just enough palm swell without being too much. I liked everything else about the Shield except the width of the grip. Needless to say, the Glock 43x is going up for sale.

That Hogue sleeve fixed my Shield. Used to dance around my palm after every shot, making it tough for accurate fast follow up shots.

Those Hogue Beavertail slip-on grips are the best thing since sliced bread was invented. If you haven't tried them you don't know what you're missing. They're very inexpensive and make the Shield so much more shootable.

I never noticed this, but yes, mine does too.. but the inside of the trigger guard is smooth so it doesn't cause any discomfort under live fire.

Go shoot that G43x before you decide to sell. Mine has become my favorite pistol I own.

I had the 1.0 Shield 9 also. I found that the grip was too long and too thin for my liking. The M&P triggers also suk.
I like a double stack 9 better. Glock 26 works best for me
10+1 rounds of HST in a shootable sub compact is hard to beat
