Looks like a big ol' pig that was trying to get to his corn pile to me..........
When I first read about this I figured that it was another of those "canned-hunts" where some dude kills a corn-fed hog that's been penned up until the dude arrives to hunt/shoot, but after reading the following link (Transylvania County hog killed by Caswell County man tips scales at 707.5 pounds - North Carolina Sportsman) there appears to be some validity to this being a fair-chase hunt for a free-ranging wild hog.....if so, then I applaud the hunters. If it was a canned-hunt then I have nothing but disdain for the shooters. They would not be real hunters IMO if it was a canned-hunt.
