I decided to cook up something different for supper this week and came across a recipe for bacon wrapped chicken tenders. I gotta say, the whole family said they were larapin. I substituted smoked paprika for regular paprika and it added a smooth but light smoked flavor to it. I had intended to cook them in the smoker, but due to time constraints I went ahead and popped them in the oven.

I added the recipe at the bottom.

Bacon Wrapped Chicken (Brown Sugar)

Ingredients

• 1 lbs. chicken tenders about 10 chicken tenders
• 10 strips bacon sliced in half length-wise (I used turkey bacon)
• 1/2 -1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 teaspoon onion powder
• 1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 2/3 cup light brown sugar packed
• 2 tablespoons chili powder

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
2. Mix together salt, paprika, black pepper, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
3. Sprinkle mixture evenly over chicken tenders, (top and bottom) completely coating them generously in the spices.
4. Wrap two sliced bacon strips around the chicken tender. Tuck in and loose ends.
5. Mix together brown sugar and chili powder.
6. Sprinkle this mixture generously over bacon wrapped chicken, top and bottom. Press the sugar mixture into the chicken to pack it on.
7. Place the chicken on a greased grill pan.
8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until chicken is done and bacon is crisp. You can broil for the last few minutes if desired to crisp up the bacon more.

That sounds scrumptious! Try duck tenders, in place of chicken, you may like 'em even better.

Wrap bacon around a date, stick a toothpick in and bake.

Stick a toothpick in a slice of water chestnut, stick it in a chicken liver wrapped with bacon, sprinkle on some brown sugar and bake.

Bacon is without a doubt my favorite food. I like it crispy.

Got a bacon cheeseburger and baked potato from Wendy's today. First time in a long time it had multitudes of perfectly cooked bacon. I don't like it chewy.

I have mentioned before that I like my bacon with some "tooth" to it. I like it on the chewy side. Ruthie, on the other hand, likes hers so crispy that you could crumble it and snort it.
