I have a problem with my wifes j-frame 357. Not sure when or how but the hand torsion spring is now broken. Not a good thing my son took it out to target practice the other day and it would cock but he noticed the cylinder wasn't rotating. When he let off the hammer to what he thought was safe, it went off. My guess would be the hammer was caught on the spring pieces and finished firing on it's own. Nothing hurt, he knew it was not right and had it pointed away and down, very lucky. I swear nothing has been done to the gun ever. I did have to take the side plate off and remove the spring before i could get the cylinder to open and unload the gun. Any ideas what would have caused this? Like i said it is my wifes gun and has not been fired very much at all.

ended up with springs

I finally got ahold of the right person at S&W, & got the replacement spring. But can anyone tell or show me a pic of how it oes back in? Just want to be sure i get it correct. Mine isn't quite like the one in the FAQ section it has a bent tang on the short end. Thanks
