Roads are terrible today in SW Mo., bur could get out to the shop. Came up with about 600 158 gr. SWC. These will all go over 3.5 gr. of Bullseye in 38 spl brass.

Kept me out of the wife's hair.

I have a honey-do list from my daughter to accomplish this weekend, then I'm about to have some casting sessions as well. Have two new bullet molds to break in - a 6-cavity Lee for a 230 gr. Truncated cone tumble lube bullet for .45 ACP, and a 4-cavity Mihec for the 250-260 gr Keith bullet for .44 Special/Magnum. I also need to run some of the .38/.357 bullets you described. I only have a two cavity for that one; I'd like to get a four-cavity for the 358156.

I'm waiting for it to be in the 50's or 60's as the garage isn't heated. I'll start with 1500 85gr 32RN and size 500 each in .309, ,311, & .314. At some point I need more 45-70-300's, 405's & 500's and 44 SWC's and 45 SWC's.

I need to hit the source for scrap lead again!

Same here in Reno, Nevada.
Bad roads, rain or snow and below 30 degree weather to make driving, exciting........ !!

Waited two days............
today I need to go out and load up on heating pellets to help out
the oil heater in heating our house, with 11 degree morning lows.

Plus I need to get a large bag of bird seed for the birds that don't fly south.

Oh well, it is nice to load and tie flys for the nice weather that will
eventually show up.

I too am a boolit caster. Glad to see there are others. It seems we are a vanishing breed.

I cast for every caliber I shoot, pistol and rifle. Including .223 Remington. Now THAT'S a hoot. I shoot NRA Highpower with cast boolits. For about 20 years I shot my 03A3 .30-06, and about 5 years ago I put together a .223 bolt gun for Highpower.

10gr IMR 4227 and a 64 gr cast boolit, is just barely more than shooting a .22 LR.

I'll try to post some pictures later.

We ARE a vanishing breed! You should see the face of some guys when someone tells them I cast my own. Some look at me as if I'd be some kind of a scientist from the Middle Age!

People at the range are amazed when I shoot lead 30-30 and 22 Hornet. "What is that you're shooting??"

Good idea, that's what I usually do too. I got all my lead for free so casting bullets is cheap. Yesterday I was at the range and needed some empty boxes to put my cases in. found a box of 38 specials with a price tag of $24.95 for 50. If I had to pay that I wouldn't shoot. I manage to load all my pistol rounds for about $4 per 100. So the guy paid 25 bucks to my $2. Insane. See the same thing at IDPA matches. Guys laugh at my smoke until I tell them what it costs.
