Have you seen the mini-series Badlands, Texas?
Not to be confused with In The Badlands.
Texas Bad is on National Geographic Channel.
It's the story of a murder deep down in the Big Bend in Terlingua, TX.
Texans only- how many of you have ever been there?
It is way, way out there.
I have been just about everywhere in Texas, but only recently about 4 years ago I got down there. It is different.
Like I once said to a dude from Gallup- do weird people move there,
Or do they get weird after they move there?
The show moves slow, and even though I actually have trouble keeping focused, I do plan to watch all of it.
Anybody else watching?

Been there several times but not recently.

Not even sure if the annual chili cookoff/contest is still run there.

Yup, got me wondering so just checked the net. 50th annual due in
early November 2016.

I watch almost no television. Yes, I have been to Terlingua. It's not far from me (at least by Texas standards). Yes, they chili cookoff still happens. Terlingua is one of those strange and wonderful places that are great to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Terlingua/Big Bend is about the only part of Texas I have been in,
except for just passing thru.

Big Bend is an area where the rattlesnakes out number the people something like 20 to 1. Pretty good camping down there though.

I live fairly close to big bend, about 3-3 1/2 hours away, and ride
The bike down there several times a year. I have been in the la kiva a few times but I didn't know the late owner. The local Midland/Odessa stations were all over the the investigation and trial of the owners death. For those who are watching the show and don't know how the trial ends, I won't spoil it for you.
