Ballistic question

Ok, here's my question: If I am hitting point of aim at 25 yards with my 15-22, where will my bullet be hitting at 100 yards?

Forget about being accurate to the .1 of an inch, or trying to figure the differences between ammo. All I'm looking for is a relatively close estimate of bullet movement over that distance with standard .22lr ammo with around 1260fps (+/- 40 fps).

Zeroing my ARs for 200 yards by shooting from 25 yards my bullet hits about 2 inches low of point of aim. I'm not sure about the .22lr round from an AR style platform, with a similar sight (or optic) set up.

This data will be used for 'tactical .22' matches held about 8 miles from my house, twice a month. They shoot out to 100 yards on 1 stage per event and if I'm dead-on at 25 I need to know where the bullet will hit at 100 so I can use a little Kentucky windage to score 'hits'.

A critical part you didn't tell us is the height of the line of sight above the bore axis, which depends on your chosen sight.

I'm using a co-witnessed Vortex Strikefire optic, so assume it's the same height as standard AR sights.

Think most is a drop of 5 ft at 100 yds. Don't remember, says on the ammo box.

fed bulk 525 says 5.6 inches at 100 yards.

I shoot at from 50 to 75, 100 yards on regular bases and it's about 6 inches with 40gr round nose.

Around 5.6" low at 100 yards is the short answer. To zero for 100 yards shoot 1.4 inches high @ 25 yards. Try this for more precision (http://www.biggameinfo.com/index.aspx?page=/balcalc.ascx).

After looking for the same sort of info. I read that if you sight in a high velocity 22 LR to be 1 inch high at 51 yards, you will be dead on at 85 yards. This is the setting I use and I have found it works very well on 22 silouette targets throughout this range. Might have to aim
just a tad high at 100 yds.
Shure wish we had a 22 cal running and gunning course around here! Sounds like loads of fun!

i have a ruger 10/22 with a 16 inch barrel that i shoot fairly often at 100yds. the most accurate ammo i have used in it is winchester super X hollow points. it is zeroed at 25 yds, and shoots about 4 1/2 inches low at 100 yds. that is about the least amount of drop, of anything i have tried in it.
