I have a hankering for Banana's Foster, and, unable to find a local restaurant that offers this dessert, have resigned myself to DIY. I think I've assembled all the necessary components and instructions, but will welcome any advice...

one stick of butter (real butter!), 1/2c brown sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon. Combine over medium heat. When hot, add in sliced bananas, 1/4c dark rum, quickly saute. Spoon out the bananas and reduce the sauce as necessary, serve over vanilla ice cream.

I do the same thing with pineapple instead of bananas, also. Yum!

Edit! Added the cinnamon!

Goal for tomorrow: buy dark rum:rolleyes: (I have everything else already)

Just by that recipe I know I'm in for a treat:D

yum, one thing i miss about college, our school chef made banana's foster on request and they were unbelievable.

I had it in Australia. Very simple. Peel banana...toss aside skin, then toss aside banana...open a large can of Foster's and down it...repeat until you run out of bananas or beer...

"...open a large can of Foster's and down it.."

Isn't that the GP Australian recipe for everything?
