Browning A5 Two Millionth Commemorative Edition with Case (Unfired)

The shotgun is 100% complete from what I have researched. I believe the gun was never handled or barely handled. The barrel is still in original packaging and the oil paper is in the box. The documentation is still sealed and has not been opened. The keys to the case are still in the wax paper. So I'm confident this is a 100% gun. The shotgun also included what I believe was an original add for the shotgun. I'm really excited to find this in new unopened condition after almost 50 years.

So you forgot you stowed it in your barn 50 years ago? Very plausible!
Congratulations

Unreal! You really scored big time! I hope you are gonna shoot that puppy even thought it is a commemorative. I know I couldn't resist and could never just stare and drool over it - LOL!

Browning Shotguns are my all time Fav's!! I have an A5 and a Superposed - both made in Belgium (late 50's or early 60's) I have hunted with both of them over 40 years, taken Pheasants, Grouse, Partridge, etc. I use both for Skeet and Trap and Sporting Clays too. Needless to say I've got tens of thousand's of shells through both of them with no hitches. BTW, both came in the original Browning hard luggage case. :)

Very nice!! Please tell us the back story regarding the "barn find".

So my neighbors dad owned a hardware store in the 60's and 70's. Recently my neighbor indicated his dad had left him a bunch of weapons he wanted to sell. I figured it was going to be some rust traps and old fired stuff.

When he brought out a few pieces my jaw dropped. I ended up with a model 66-2 SS New in the box (original shipping box also), and this shotgun. Both unfired with all paperwork. I paid a fair price for both pieces, but I knew these don't come along everyday. And who knows on pieces like these, value is somewhat hard to establish since they are almost 50 years old NIB.

Outstanding!!! I am usually in the crowd of "shoot it" but in your case, I would not shoot that one. Now, the Model 66 is a different situation; I would definitely have to shoot it; it will clean up very nicely. Want to show that Model 66?

Congrats on your new Real Nice New Firearms.
I will echo the sentiment on missing the Older Shotgun News I received every other week or so. I bought one of my nice Smith 29's out of one.
From a north central dealer. The 6 inch adjustable front sight blued classic hunter w non fluted cyl.
525 clams in '88 or '89ish. Also a Winch supergrade 70 reissue w controlled round feed in 300 mag in '88.
When the first reissues w gorgeous wood were made out of the Winchester custom shop back then.
I saved a lot then w overtime to buy now and then
when I was steady deer hunting in those days.
I loved getting my shotgun news everytime..
So many Collectible dealers advertised they're wares
in it consistently back then.
Yep, I miss those days a lot, too..

OP-that is some seriously nice walnut on that gun. Belongs in a museum almost.

I'm not really a shotgun collector, but I really think I'm going to hold onto this one. But I always say that and then change my mind.

Hell, I remember getting David Carrol's newsletter every other month or so. Drooling over the lists of 27's 29's and the occasional Colt. Loved the Shotgun News. J&G out of Arizona was a big advertiser

I remember from back in the pre-Internet days the newsletter I used to receive from Cherry's out of Greensboro, NC. I still have the Finnish L-35 Lahti pistol that was advertised in that newsletter.
