Barranti-Myres Franz-Loc

After a discussion on Franz-Loc that we had back in August, I figured I needed a couple. I already had an order in with Doc for a Myres Barton Special for a 4" N frame, so I asked him to switch gears and add a Franz-Loc instead. Long story short, I wound up with an order for two. I had thought that I would wait until I had both in hand and post photos with their appropriate iron, but I am so excited after seeing Doc's photos of the first one that I just had to share.

Very cool, Bruce! I remember that discussion. In fact, I just HAD to order a few of those Fran’s-Loc thingies too. I haven’t made any plans for them yet, but I do like the way you think!!

I missed the earlier posts on the Franz-Loc. How do they "work" or "feel" compared to a regular leather loops? Are/were they made in one size only? E.g., 1.5."

I'm thinking maybe a pretty good solution for a smaller gun that you want to take on and off easily. I speculate a larger gun would have too much wiggle.

Here’s a Franz made holster with the Franz-Loc. They came in different sizes. They are very heavy duty and seem to hold the holster securely.
Heiser cataloged a stainless steel clip in 3 sizes.
I have a Heiser that fits a Government Model as shown and another for a 3 1/2” .357 Magnum revolver so they were ordered for some of the larger guns.
Doc affixes them as securely or better than Heiser did.

I have a Franz-Loc Turnerriver gave me a few years ago and I put it on a carved holster I made for my 3 1/2” 27-2. But I felt it wasn’t quite right on that one and removed it. I’m still thinking what to put it on for myself. I did buy another one to put on a holster to sell. Here's the holster I made with the Franz-Loc but removed it and remodeled the holster then sold it..
