barrel drooping

I installed my kinetitech shroud the other day and the barrell seems to be dropping alittle. I double checked the barrell nut to make sure it was (hand) tight. am I over reacting? or does this sound normal for the tad bit of extra weight on the barrell?

Does it shoot straight?
Adding weight to the barrel might cause the barrel line to shift slightly in relation to the upper receiver.
Adding a barrel shroud might also cause it to appear to droop (optical illusion). However, since I don't have a barrel shroud on my rifle, I'm just guessing.

confirmation on the way it shoots. I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with it like ya said. just an illusion. we'll see later on today.

Yea, you are over-reacting. Adding a shroud, suppressor, muzzle brake, compensator or anything else of that nature will NOT bend a barrel or make it droop.

Putting the end in a vice and hanging a couple of hundred pounds off the receiver might ...

Generally using a suppressor does affect POI. The shift can be due to the affects of how the gas is bled off in the suppressor and due to the weight of the suppressor itself. I don't think you'd be able to see the negligible amount of actual deflection though.

"Might" be the hand tight barrel nut ? Or an optical illusion if the kinetitech shroud isn't on straight ? Check your barrel nut when you get back off the range...

Drooping as in, you took some sort of measurement or its shooting low, or it just looks like it is drooping.

Yea you're right. MAYBE, but I seriously doubt it.

We'd probably be amazed at the PSI necessary to make noticeable movement in the straightness of even a .22 rifle barrel.

Weapons ARE serious business if you are on the wrong end.

Also a loose barrel nut (which has been and does happen),can also be a serious problem to the shooter.

I am going to come to the conclusion that it's just my eyes playing tricks on me. thank you every one for your input. I meant to say "sagging" not "drooping" by the way. the gun shot just fine
