Well, the heat forced me inside during the day and that usually results in pointless experiments!

If one were to cover the forcing cone with a finger and blow across the end of the barrel like a flute...........

1954 4" 38/44 G# 823.3 Hz

1972 Mod 36 2" G-6 1567.98 Hz

Colt PP 1919 6" C#5 542.8 Hz

Now if I can just build a pipe organ using vintage revolvers!

Pray for a cold front! :D

If you can find one that produces 440 Hz I'll buy it and have an excuse to bring a gun to rehearsal. Maybe give the oboe some competition for who gives the tuning note.

I prefer the "Schumann Resonance" @ 432 Hz, it resonates with 8 Hz, the "beat of the earth"

Can you imagine tuning to your registered magnum right before rehearsal? I'd love to see that. :D:D

Call me a nerd, but I find this fascinating...barrel resonance. I see lots of implications for bullet design, twist rates, etc. I'd bet Harry Pope knew the resonance of every barrel he made.
