Barrel Lengths for Black Finish 686

I have two 686s with the factory black finish, one 4" and one 6.5" barrel. Did this gun come in a 3" barrel as well?

I have those two also, but I need to measure the barrel again. I thought the barrel lengths were 4" and 6". As far as I know there were no 3" barrels.

I've only seen them in the 4" and 6" barrels myself.

I have a 686-4 2 1/2 bbl. in factory black finish. I was told when I bought it that it had belonged to fellow whose brother worked at S&W and had it done there. It has been sitting in my safe unfired for quite a few years.
