Barrel to ADCO--it's done, pix and range report

Yes I'm old. 52 years but far from disabled still. My .308 AR is 12 lbs. I hike with a 4" .500 Mag that I'm thinking weighs near this rifle. My motivation was a unique piece.

just wondering, yeah i guess it is unique, 52 is old now? dang

I hope you had them turn the flash hider down to .800 diameter, at the largest, else you won't be able to get the barrel nut off.
Why would you get in trouble for a bare lower receiver?
It is a unique piece.
And when did 52 become old?

52 is old to a 25 year old. I think if we didn't have a little extra cash for toys they'd float us off on an iceberg or something :D

The A2 flash hider will not admit a barrel nut tool so the take-down procedure is:

1] stash lower receiver

2] grind away weld

3] invert to allow pin to fall out of flash hider & barrel

4] remove flash hider

5] disassemble further as usual

Reassembly requires a new $8 A2 flash hider. I might have one in the junk drawer. I don't have any plans to remove the bbl from the upper, however.

Possessing a non-NFA rifle receiver and a less than 16" bbl for it at the same time, if you don't have a pistol receiver that fits it, can be considered constructive intent and could get you a ticket on the PMITA express. I had to un-possess the receiver for an hour while I picked up the bbl at the PO and welded the flash hider on. I would have had ADCO pin the hider, but see above.

The tacticool22 wrench will fit over a .8 muzzle device just fine.
Thanks for the explanation about the barrel and intent. And you know if they can, they will. You could buy a 15-22p then you would have the pistol receiver.
Just havin fun.

im 24, but i do hang out with mostly older people so i guess thats kind of different. They all say i have an old soul. Anyways, back to what this is about, nice work on the gun im sure it will flag up some interest in others and lead to new ideas for some.
