I have seen them, they are made with chrome tanned leather. Be careful of the finish on metal parts(slide). Guns should never be stored in leather, but especially chrome tanned leather.

I learned my lesson about this the hard way...my wife used to have a LC9, and she wanted a leather pistol rug for it. I bought her a nice one, tanned leather and floral engraved. I put her LC9 in it, and put it in the safe. I took it out a while later, not sure how long but not that long, maybe a couple of weeks, and the slide was already showing rust! It cleaned off OK, but I went back to storing her LC9 in a silicone gun sock as I do mine.

The holster (Barsony or other) that I want for my Shield 45 will be for carry, not storage. I've got an inexpensive nylon holster now, and I want a better one. I prefer leather, aesthetically, but the options are few...there are a lot for the Shield 9/40, but the few mention the 45. Or they say they will fit all three models...since the 45 is slightly larger, it seems like it would be too tight.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. I like thumb snap models.

I'm a huge fan of Wright Leather Works holsters, owning three of them. However, gauging the price point of Barsony Leather, I'd suggest a DeSantis mini scabbard for your Shield 45. That is my owb holster since I usually prefer iwb for that particular gun.

I am a big fan of the Wright Leather holster also, but have found great value and performance in the Azula OWB Holster. They are very well made and have great retention. I ordered one for my Shield 45 and was very pleased. Price is right with free shipping and fast shipping to boot. Definitely worth a look. They have models made for the Shield 45.
