My stepfather passed to his Heavenly home on Saturday at 11:15am, surrounded by family to include 4 kids, 2 grandkids, and even his great grandson. It was the day before his 89th birthday. He lived a good life, and was ready to go.
His house is surrounded by woods and backs up to a State Park. Over the years, he/we have seen many wild animals. Regularly are seen deer, turkeys, foxes, coyotes, and even bears. It has been a while since we had actually SEEN a bear. About a month ago, a bear visited and tore his bird feeder with elaborate pulley system to elevate it from the house at 4am. My sister, who was staying with him that night, heard it, but was too tired to investigate. The Ring doorbell camera missed it too. But the feeder was found the next morning torn apart across the driveway surrounded by bear tracks. He always liked seeing the animals, but didn't appreciate getting his bird feeder torn down. Sunday morning, after his passing, my sister and her husband, from Pawley's Island, who were staying at his house saw a visitor. My guess is that it was there to show it's respect.

But here is a video from 2012 of another bear, at his mountain house this time, trying to get to another bird feeder. This time, it is a feeder 2 stories up. My stepfather kinda got upset when the bear started tearing up his tree.
