I was very fortunate to locate this jewel of a 29-2. It has the 6.5" BBL and TH/TT. Good cleaning and polish has it gleaming. What do you folks think it is worth in today's market?

Gun alone? In today's market? I'd peg it around $1500.
Box, tools, papers, & display box included? Make that around $1800.

Very nice!!
I like seeing the pinned front sight. For the guy who might've wanted to shoot her back in the day, you could have that ramp front sight swapped out for a Patridge or McGivern gold bead.
You did a nice job cleaning her up!
(need the shades to cut down on the glare from all that shine!)

Very nice 29-2! 6-1/2" bbl. and nickel finish both add a premium to it's value. You didn't mention the s/n (S- or N-prefix)...the revolver's age would also affect its worth. As you probably know, the 29-2 first appeared in 1962, and the 6-1/2" bbl. was discontinued in 1979. A few years ago I picked up a minty 6" nickel 29-2 (1980, no box) for just under $1K which I thought was a fair price. But the market has skyrocketed since then. I'm seeing 85% blued 4" and 6" model 29-2s priced at gun shows and online for $1500+, and they're selling! BC38 is probably close with his estimate, but I think its value is more like $1800 for just the revolver, and maybe $2K with box and goodies. It's a crazy market out there!

She is a N serial prefix gun. SCSW say 1977-78 MFG. years. I polished her lightly with Flitz and used the Lucas extreme bore solvent to clean the fouling and bore. I hate the smell of Hoppe's # 9. She was shiny when I got her, but now it is like a mirror. Cleaning them up is a fun part of a purchase for me. Unfortunately, I didn't get her box and case candy. The box may still be found in storage however, so i'm holding out hope.

I've been using Hoppes #9 on my model 19-5 since about 1981. When should I expect disaster to strike?

Interesting observation. I guess I’ve always known I don’t live in the real world.
I have no great objection to the new guns but I really like your 29-2. My own experience tells me that my 29-2s don’t stand up well to .44 Magnums with heavier-than-usual bullets but other than that, mine have been great revolvers. Maybe the new models do better with what I regard as freakish .44 loads?
I can’t comment on price other than to say if I saw that gun with a $1500 tag on it, I would not be surprised. In any case, that’s a great looking .44. Congrats on your new revolver.
Very nice, not sure about value in today's market but I bought this one almost exactly a year ago at a gun show for $900. It was wearing "improved target stocks" though so had to replace them with those shown so another $100 for that. Would it be $1500 this year? Maybe.

I track hammer prices pretty carefully and I'm currently showing a median price of $1,800 for used 29s. This goes up to $2,194 for a 4-screw, and $2,795 for a 5-screw.
Sold My NIB 29-2 on this forum 1 year ago for 2K. If I saw that gun on a table at a gun show for $1500 I would walk away with it.

Hoppes #9 on Nickel
I've been using Hoppes #9 on all my guns with no issues.Obviously after cleaning powder residue from the exterior and bore you wipe the firearm down.I follow up with wax then oil it up.45 years of doing it the same way and all the blue,nickel and stainless finishes look brand new.
