My favorite LGS ( I have dealt with them through 3 generations ) has a Bedell Rogers rig on display. It was built for a customer of theirs who has since passed. It was made for a High Standard Double 9.

Beautiful rig!

Did you buy it? It might fit a Ruger Single-Six or even a K-22. You can always tell people FSG stands for Fast Six Gun! :)
No, it is display only. The fellow that owns it knew Bedell and the fellow it was built for was a favorite customer of his. In fact, he sold the Double 9 to him that it was built for.

The set is in such handsome condition it would've had a place in Holstory' Second Edition had we had the owner's permission to use the excellent images :-). There was even a spot for it, filled forever by a simple maker's mark today.

Bedell lived until 1994 having worked alongside his father Robert since the end of the '40s when L.A. Sessums died; those marked with the father's stamp are the rarest of all the brillalikes but he made virtually all of the Sessums-marked scabbards using Sessums' mark.

Cliff Claven says, "the Sessum brothers were orphans whose name was Sessum instead, and likely the extra 's' was a plural in the hardware store called Fisher-Sessums because both were investors."
