Been using a Remora holster for my 9c. It tucks inside the waistband and has a rubberized finish that is supposed to stick to your clothes. Doesn't work worth a bucket of beans - comes out with the gun.

I've been looking at these belly band holsters. There's several manufacturers. Anybody know anything about them?

I've had two- a Bianchi that was quality construction but not that comfortable, and a Bulldog that was really cheap and cheezy and not that comfortable either. Crossbreed has one that looks promising, but is only available for small guns. That may have been my problem as I used mine for G27s, M&P 45s and they didn't support real good. The Bianchis worked good with a Beretta 21 or J-frame when I was out running, but not good for all day carry.

IMHO, if you carry with a round in the chamber, bellyband holsters do not provide enough protection around the trigger area, especially with the M&P's 6.5 pound trigger pull weight. You can probably safely use a bellyband holster if you also use a trigger guard kydex holster that has the pull strings on it.

With that said, there are some nice bellyband holsters online at these websites:

Take a look at Tactipac and Smartcarry. I have a Tactipac Elite that I use whenever I have to tuck in my shirt. It is a tiny bit slower to draw, but you can carry just about any size gun and a spare mag. It is a great holster IMO.

That may be true for some but not the CrossBreed model. It uses a leather backed/kydex holster but like walkin' trails said, it's for small guns only:

CrossBreed® Holsters Modular Belly Band

I have a friend that bought a TactiPac FusionPac holster and while it might be comfortable and all it looks like a cheap piece of **** and nowhere near the $80 they ask for them.

I've owned and used the "Truss" belly band. It's been with me all over the world. Carried mostly FS guns like Sig 229/226, G17,etc...

I modded mine slighty by inserting a donor Kydex holster into elastic holster. I did it mostly for retention/reholstering purposes.

The suspenders initially look kinda goofy, but they work by distributing the load better. No one is gonna see it anyway.

Only downside is that it gets hot...but that's pretty normal for most belly bands.

Kangaroo carry...

Sort of like a belly band, rides like a shoulder holster. I've used mine almost daily for over a year now, with either my 637 j-frame, or my Sig P938, either carry very nice in it, it's comfortable, and conceals nicely.

I have a DeSantis that works very well for me. The pockets are generic but holds a G26 or a G19 surprisingly well. Even better for S&W Shield 9. I wear it cross draw under left arm, appendix, or 3:30. It's my go to when I wear sweats to the gym. But as one posted, it does get hot in warm weather.

The darling husband has a 3 speed belly band holster that he really likes. He is a huge fan of sweat panrs. With the 3 speed holster he can still carry his 9c when he wears his swwats.

This is a quality 5" wide belly band that is almost perfect for concealment and comfort. The Taurus PT111 G2 fits very well. Amazon.com : Belly Band with 2 Mag Pouches Black : Gun Holsters : Sports & Outdoors@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51j1pa1FXIL.@@AMEPARAM@@51j1pa1FXIL

Here is a link to the Kangaroo Carry bellyband that was mentioned above by a fellow poster.

The Kangaroo Carry is a lot like the Pistol Wear bellyband but might be better because it is made out of breathable cotton and has extra pockets on it.

The CrossBreed bellyband that someone posted about is certainly innovative and solves the problem of bellybands not having solid protection around the trigger area. However, it looks to me that it will be a major sweatband on hot days. Perhaps StealthGear USA will copy it but make it a ventilated model using their patented breathable mesh. Any comments about the breathability of the CrossBreed bellyband?

P.S. While looking at CrossBreed's website I discovered this interesting pocket holster that I will research further:

I don't want to hijack this thread but I thought I would share a picture about how the trigger area is unprotected on most belly band holsters, which is a problem if you carry with a round chambered in a gun having about an 8 pound or less trigger pull weight.

The link below looks to be the Kangaroo Carry bellyband holster on the website of The Well Armed Women. Notice the pull strap to free the gun is right on top of the trigger area. The holster fabric is thin. In the panic of releasing the strap, could one easily push thru the fabric and pull the trigger? Maybe. The solutions would be the use of a secondary trigger guard holster or a full Kydex holster inside of the pouch, or always engaging the safety on your gun (if so equipped).

I use the Pistol Wear PT-One with the shoulder strap for underarm carry. It isn't the fastest access option but works effectively with my Colt Defender.

It also works well in a crossdraw setup when worn around the stomach.

In post#10, there's no way the trigger can be inadvertently pulled when my weapon is holstered. The taut thick elastic material prevents that from happening.

2nd the Kangaroo Carry!

I've used mine every day except my daughter's wedding since I got mine. My 640 38spl has been in it and my new Colt Defender .45 will be in it once I get enough rounds through it. Both fit with minor adjustments. Nothing works better for me.

Stay safe, John

I was the one that posted about the CrossBreed Belly Band and I imagie you are correct about the heat come summer. Also when you carry at about 4:00ish that puts the double thickness material of the mag holster part right in front. If you have a t-shirt on and a thick canvas type shirt that's a lot of stuff bunched in the front of your pants and it gets uncomfortable. I plan on ripping out that extra material and I usually don;t have my shirt tucked in anyway - just wanted you all to know. I've only worn it one day so I'm still learning its strengths and weaknesses.

This is what I uses for winter. It is comfortable and secure enough to bend over without worries. It's the best price around.

I got my Kangaroo Carry holster in the mail today and I really think I'm going to like it.
