Bought this old 1 1/2 32 S&W years ago for about $50. Had laid on one side and was nickel was reeal bad, some pitting, plus it had a bulge near the end of the barrel. I cut it down to get rid of the bulge and carefully sanded it to get rid of pits. It has been laying in around and I decided to do something with it. Made up and installed the post. Then took some brass and made the buckle piece it mounts on. Tipped down gravity helps hold it plus, the cylinder is pressing against the leather belt through the large cut out. Not a bit uncomfortable. I also made a small speed loader for it. LOL. Not really a firearm by BATF, but open carry is legal here. But with my gut they might say its concealed ha ha. Have a concealed weapons permit.

Still need to get a bit more nickel off it and do some final clean up and then I am going to brown it.

That will scare all the soccer moms. I bet they would be on the phone to the police while herding their offspring to the nearest bomb shelter.

Not around here.I wore it last Sunday when I met 3of my sisters and a brother for lunch. Went to a couple stores and the Pizza Hut. only one who made any remark was my sister in law who is a bit "don't do anything beyond watch TV" type.
Plus, there is the 50+% of society that wouldn't notice it unless I post it on Facebook and they open that page.

LOVE it, way to repurpose something old! Make sure to post a follow up when completed. However, I really like the original patina, just cleaned up a bit. Try that first, you can always brown it later, but you lose the originality then. Gonna be great either way.

WOW!!! That's a classic! Reminds me of the Mattel Shootin' Shell Buckle Gun that was popular in the late 50's. If I remember, you could just puff out your stomach and the little gun would flip out on a hinge and shoot. Now, that would be something to rig up!:D

I've always been a fan of unique belt buckles. Yours is certainly a nique one, and since it's made by U, it definitely qualifies. I salute your imagination and ability to bring it to life!!!!!

Be careful... hate to see you going around half cocked!

I modified the base part of the buckle this morning so that the top "keyhole" has a turn and drop in it so gun goes in slots and then but drops down a bit. Much less likely to get slid back so it could pop out. At some point I will be remaking the plate.I have been eyeballing a similar 32 single action on Gun broker.
