Belt Loop Dimensions

I am looking at making a leather pancake style OWB holster for my shield. If I am using a 1 1/2" belt how long on do you make the belt loops in the holster?

Easy. One can make them exact length because you're going to wet the holster for moulding, right, and use a leather belt blank through the slots to shape the 'wings' of the holster, right? Right?

That is my plan, just figured I should ask if there any "tricks" I am missing.

If you are asking how long the cuts will be for the loops, lay the belt across the pattern. Set the angle you want and mark the top and bottom of the slots on the wings.
