Belt-suspended pocket holster

I routinely carry a light 337 in a front pants pocket. At just over 10 oz with a good pocket holster I tend to barely notice it. Last week, I was at a gun store looking at an all-steel 640. I put it in my pocket and found it to be a bit too heavy. That got me thinking.

Is it possible to make or has anyone already made a pocket holster that is suspended from the belt? The problem with a heavier gun in the front pocket is most apparent when standing or walking. If the gun's weight can be redistributed to the belt by means of an adjustable strap, that would eliminate the pressure on the bottom of the pocket.

Any thoughts/ideas?

I've found that a good belt will support the weight of an all-steel gun in your pocket. The problem with an adjustable strap is that it takes away from the concealment factor unless you're wearing a long outer garment, in which case you could simply wear a belt holster instead.

You'd need to make sure whatever dangles has no way of interfering with your draw but I like the concept.
