I'm gonna try USPSA since discovering I don't care for IDPA.

Starting out with a 6" 586 (6-round) & SF 002 holster. What kind of belt do I need to go with it.

Also about how many SLs will I need?

Thanks!

this is what I use

This is what I purchase to shoot my 686 at USPSA competition:

Safariland 028 Competition Belt 1-1/2'' Buckleless
Safariland 029 Underbelt 1-1/2" Buckleless Hook Liner Nylon Black

I carry 8 Comp III Speedloader from Safailand on my belt and keep 1 HKS speed loader in my back pocket for my Barney load.

Good Luck and Enjoy,
Glen

686,

Are you running the 002 holster?

If so, what belt widths does it fit? I've googled like crazy and can't find it.

I realized I have a 2" El Paso Saddlery hanging in my closet. Since I'm trying to minimize the initial cost, it'd be great if I could use it. I see the Blade Tech fits 2" belts but it's a little more expensive than the 002 and I'm a Safariland kinda guy. I also have this belt for IDPA in a 1.5"
for IDPA. It's quite stiff:

JT,

Yes, I am using the 002 holster.

Looking at the holster, I do not believe a 2" wide belt will fit.

I am using 1.5" inch wide belt.

Hope that helps,
Glen

Safariland used to make two belt loops for the 002, 1.5" and 2.25". While the Safariland Comp Belt system works best, you can use any 1.5" belt with the 1.5" belt loop, just use keepers to keep everything locked in place.
