Belt

I like the Galco SB2 as an OTC belt.

I like this too. They do stretch over time so that may or may not work out for you. I've tossed all my tactical/wilderness belts as the dang velcro is brutal on the "dry" type shirts, it rips them right up.

My everyday belts are made by The Wilderness. I have the ubiquitous instructor belts in 1.75 and 1.50 sizes. I have the 1.25 version of the ring belt for dress pants...you know, court and training etc. when I have to wear nice britches. The one that gets used the most is the 1.50 since I can wear it with shorts.

I don't get too worried about the instructor belt looking like a "gun belt" as some have mused. It's concealed anyway. But it holds a gun, mag, phone etc etc very well and they're not over priced. Besides, The Wilderness belts are the originals. They'll also re-do your Velcro for you for a small fee. If your belts shrink, (like mine did) I had them re-do all three of them. Saved me $10.00 ea. for the instructor buckles and $4.00 for the ring buckle. $24.00 is nothing to shake a stick at since I would otherwise be paying for new belts @ $42.00 a piece.

Check then out. Even if you don't live in AZ like I do, you can always send the belts in for repairs etc. They have instructions on their site. Lucky me, they do the repairs while you wait if your local.

What is anyone doing about size when you order online. I know belts can vary and I would rather be a little long than short. Is ordering you regular size, 2 inches bigger than waist or go up a size.

It's easy. Follow the instructions on the belt makers site. :)

Another vote for Beltman. Yes, they're a little on the expensive side, relatively speaking, but they're very high quality. I've had two for the last 4+ years, 1.5" and 1.25", and they're my go-to belts whether I'm carrying a gun or not.

I also have a 1.5" 5-stitch Wilderness Frequent Flyer belt, but it doesn't get used much outside the home because I prefer my Beltman belts.

When choosing a belt keep in mind the type of attachment your holster has, such as, c-clips or j-clips. I've heard some gun belts are a 1/4" thick so the holster clips might not fit properly on the belt.

The belt I have is just a hair over 1/8" thick and my c-clips on my Bianchi holster were just about to narrow. I had to spread them a bit to get them to fit my belt, there's no way they'd fit on a 1/4" thick belt.

Also, if you are considering a belt with a kydex stiffener, you might want to check with the maker and see if the kydex extends into the end of the belt with the buckle pin holes. I had a Looper belt that did and the kydex broke all up and bunched up between the holes.

I currently wear Ted Blocker's model "H" belt that has a spring steel stiffener and really like it.

I picked up 2 Daltech belts at a gunshow a couple of years back for $20 a piece. The thick bull belt barely gets through the belt loops of some of my dress and work pants but will hold anything I put on it. Great duty belt. The thinner one is great for a smaller carry. Be sure to check the screws periodically or add some thread compound because they will work loose. Daltech sells replacenent screws if you loose them. Wish I had bought a couple more at the time.

No belt discussion would be complete without mentioning A&G Custom Gun Leather. I have two and am very happy.
