My experience is owning and cleaning one but I never got around to shooting it. The B76 is an interesting fixed barrel design. In my opinion it is an attractive and well-made firearm. If I recall correctly it had an unusual safety mechanism. Many Italian designed items are beautiful but arguably quirky and certainly the most "Italianesque" design feature of the B76 is the loaded chamber indicator in which the barrel needs to be pointed at your face in order to determine if it's loaded using that "feature."
The edit is:
I remember there were a number of interesting features and more than 1 potential safety issue (see loaded chamber indicator above). The other safety issue is the B-76 is a single-double action design but does NOT have a decocking lever so if you want to get it into double action you need to control the hammer with a thumb while pulling the trigger with a round in the chamber. It takes down like nothing else I remember and the inside of the gun very interesting.
I have a B-80 .30 Luger version. Like it for plinking. It's fun. The 9mm version is reportedly finiky about feeding hollow points, if that matters for your purpose.
They are delayed blowback, fixed barrel pistols. They are rare and becoming pretty hard to find. Prices have risen recently. If its a good deal, go for it. They are well made pistols.
I've got a B76 and two of its much more rare target shooting variants, called the MP3S. The MP3S has a single action only trigger, while the standard gun is DA/SA. Years ago, I also owned a B77 in 32ACP.
