I bought one about 25 years ago when I got back into shooting again. I sold
off the Colt Woodsman Match, S&W Model 41, and Browning Medalist. I still have the 89 GS. I am not sure if the 89 was more accurate than the others, but I could shoot it the best. Willyboy

Had one and sold it which I occasionally regret. Nice gun but a bugger to clean i.e removing the barrel. Not often seen these days.
The 89s had rep for cracked frames. I don’t know if this was from HV ammo or poor design. I know of one personally. I was going to buy one off AF retiree who was selling out to move down south. It was cracked and he didn’t know it. He wasn’t very technical guy on guns so I doubt it was from wear. More than likely HV ammo.
