Fella wants to trade me my refurbished Taurus PT99 plus $125 or $150 for a PX4 C with three mags and a holster. (He is asking $475.) So is that a fair price these days?
I started modestly into "Berettas" with a Taurus PT 92 (I only could afford the copy back then), traded up to a PT 99 and had it redone (new springs, cerakote, and grips).
Decided I wanted the real thing so I traded something or sold something else (I forget now) and pver the years bought a M1951, 92S, Inox 92FS, and Inox (or at least silver colored) Cougar. I'd like to complete the series (I've also got a P38/P1 just to own the "grandfather) with a PX4.
It's the full-sized pistol and he just told me it's a "C." Which I understand is a "constant action," which sounds like an amalgam of a traditional DAO hammer-fired pistol and a striker fired one. Almost like my Daewoo P51 with its triple action...where after the hammer is cocked you push it forward and it looks like its in double action, but then when you want to shoot you squeeze the trigger, it snaps back into single action and BANG.
Anyway.....I read some internet reports about it and it sounds intriguing. (I like weird stuff ala the Daewoo and a Browning BDM). I'd like to know what some folks here who have actually shot it think about it.
I have no problem carrying a DAO pistol, one of my carry guns is a Sig 250 (my others are a Sig 320 and upgraded Shield). And I'll probably shoot this mostly at the range.
I know I don't shoot my Berettas nearly enough, but recently I came down with a firearms malady: Sig-ness...and my P6 and 229 are getting most of my ammo budget.
I'm hoping this will sharpen my focus back to Beretta.
